Connect Group Studies
THIS IS THE GOSPEL | MARCH 2026
Perhaps the four most foundational books central to the Christian faith are those known as “the Gospels.” References to “the gospel” are prolific in Paul’s letters (Romans, 1 and 2 Corinthians, etc…). As Christians, we confess to believe the gospel, and we know that we should share the gospel. But what IS “the gospel”? At face value, that may seem like a simple question to answer, yet it’s an answer that many Christians fail to articulate. Is it that our sins are forgiven? Is it that Jesus died for us? Is it that we have hope for eternal life? Yes, but what if there’s more…
In these four Connect Group studies we will explore what the gospel is as well as what it means for how we live our lives today.
Two tips for leaders:
1) Try to not get stuck in debate. 2 Timothy 2:23 says, “Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.” Encourage your group to remain respectful as you share ideas and stories, but try to avoid it descending into arguments over semantics. Keep the main thing the main thing and remind everyone to take a posture of humility!
2) You don’t need to have all the answers. Apple employees are taught to not answer a customer’s question with “I don’t know” but rather to respond with “let’s find out together.” In your Connect Group, “I don’t know” could be a perfectly suitable answer! But lean on your Connect Group oversight, Campus Pastor, or leader to explore further resources to learn and grow together. After all, that’s one of the purposes of Connect Groups!
